With a flexible and tailored approach, TILT provides researchers aspiring to become entrepreneurs the resources, tools and guidance to explore and develop their potential startup.

The Pilot Program
TILT provides a unique, adaptive journey that empowers researchers to shape their entrepreneurial future while driving real-world impact beyond academia. Join the pilot program to receive exclusive support and be part of shaping this transformative initiative. The TILT pilot runs from November to May and will be hosted at Eitri & Marineholmen.
Who Can Apply?
Open to Researchers: Applicants can range from PhD students to professors from VIS’s owner institutions: UiB, HB, HVL, IMR, and NHH.
Institutional Affiliation: At least one team member must be a researcher affiliated with one of these institutions. Teams can include internal and external students or collaborators.
Research-Based Innovation Project: The idea or project must be based on academic research.
Pilot Application Process
Anyone can express interest, but there is no formal application process for the pilot. Participants will be selected through an invitation-only, rolling admission process based on alignment with the pilot’s goals.

Interested in being part of TILT? Contact us to be considered for the pilot program. This will not be a formal application process but a way for us to learn about you and your project.
Selected participants will receive invitations to join the pilot. If not selected, you may still be invited to participate in specific program modules, as capacity allows.
Pilot Highlights
Regular Meetings: Collaborate with the TILT team to refine your idea, develop strategies, and address specific challenges.
Priority Access: Gain early access to new program modules, workshops, and resources, ensuring you stay ahead of the curve.
Expert Guidance and Investor Exposure: Depending on project maturity, participants will have opportunities for one-on-one mentorship with external experts and to pitch ideas to potential investors for feedback and funding prospects.
Study Trip: One standout project will be invited to join an exclusive TILT study trip to meet international experts and visit academic startups.
Kick-Off Prize: The most promising pilot project will be awarded a kick-off prize (details to be announced).
